Shin-Soo Choo first appeared in the 2000 World Junior Baseball Championship for South Korea. He was the MVP and voted Best Pitcher! He would eventually sign with the Seattle Mariners as a five-tool prospect. Shin-Soo made his Mariners debut in 2005 appearing in just 10 games. After just 4 games in 2006 Choo was traded to the Cleveland Indians. In 2007 just when it appeared that career was on the rise, Choo had Tommy John surgery on his elbow. Finally in May of 2008 Shin-Soo was called up for good and took his place in the Indian outfield. Over 94 games Choo hit for a .309 average. He followed that up in 2009 by hitting an even .300 in 156 games and repeated that .300 average in 2010. As well as having a dynamic arm in the field Shin-Soo has been a 20-20 man for the last two years in homers and steals.
Andrew McCutchen had signed a letter to attend the University of Florida but when he was drafted 11th overall in the 2005 Major League Draft he chose to sign with the Pittsburgh Pirates. In June 2009 the Pirates traded Nate McLouth, opening the Centerfield job for McCutchen. He singled in his first at bat against Mets pitcher Mike Pelfrey. On June 17th Andrew launched his first MLB homer against Francisco Liriano but that was just a precurser to his career day in August. On August 1 facing the Washington Nationals McCutchen went 4 for 5 with 3 HR's and 6 RBI's. Each homer came off a different pitcher! Andrew finished the year with 12 homers and 22 steals. In 2010 his first full year in the Majors, McCutchen homered 16 times to go along with 33 steals. At 23 years old Andrew is still maturing but has already demonstrated very good defensive skills along with his speed. At the plate McCutchen has been consistent with a .286 average and .365 OBP in both of his first two years.
